I’ve been meaning to post this for a couple of weeks now, I had a wonderful night the other week at Coco Republic Design School.
I attended a lecture on growing a small business from the ground up by the wonderful Helen Lennie of Signature Prints.
Helen and her husband David founded Signature Prints and have built an iconic Australian and international business by treasuring and reestablishing the extensive collection of prints by Florence Broadhurst.
Inspirational, informative, passionate and tenacious would be the way that I would describe Helen and the journey she and her husband have taken in breathing new life into the Broadhurst prints. I’ve always loved the Florence Broadhurst collection, there is something about the elegance of the line work the bold colours and pattern placement that appeals to my visual sensibilities. When you see the hand made prints in real life, either in fabric or wallpaper, there is a richness to the quality of the print that makes it hard trying to resist a touching them.
Thank you Helen Lennie and Signature Prints, a very inspiring night!
Below is the Japanese Floral from the Blueprints Collection available @ http://www.signatureprints.com.au/products/wallpaper/blueprints-collection/japanese-floral-fbw-co07/
This one is one of may favourites and as I was browsing through the Coco Republic showroom this colour way with the gold stood out as a new, rich and contemporary way to explore one of my favourite hues.
Both images are from the Signature Prints website, definately worth investigating to see the amazing work available.
Artist, designer and educator, inspired by light, colour and the world around me.
