Back at work and finishing up the final 3 subjects for my Masters. I still have a project bubbling away slowly in the background that I'm so excited about and can't wait to be able to share. There's not a huge amount of creative time to spare at the moment. I stumbled on these whilst looking through my photos and I thought I'd share these with you. They're from Vivid Sydney 2015.
Vivid is one of my most favourite things to do in Sydney, it combines my passion for light with my love of Sydney. It all happens, lucky for me, right around my birthday in May so it feels like a wonderful way to celebrate. I feel truly lucky to have this wonderful festival on the doorstep and to have celebrated with the wonderful people in my life. Thank you for making it so special.
Back to work on my studies, which just quickly, I'll share this with you. I began a Masters of Cross Disciplinary Art and Design a couple of years ago with UNSW. It's a fully online course and it is at the forefront of 21st learning in both delivery of teaching and concepts of cross disciplinary practice for contemporary practitioners. I've loved every minute of it, (yes even the ones that I had to drag myself through) and I've learnt so much. I've almost or maybe I have gone broke trying to balance study and work and 6 weeks ago I was ready to give up with only 3 subjects to go. I didn't and I'm so glad that I didn't pack it in. I'm still broke and can't wait to get my evenings and weekends back to myself to develop my above mentioned project. Here's my unsolicited advice to anyone on the verge of packing in a goal or dream, JUST KEEP GOING!
It's amazing how things can turn around in a day. I was so worn down from work and study that I just couldn't see the light. Then something ticked over and I realised that I only had 1 semester to go! So full steam ahead.
Oh and the course is not on offer anymore. Such a shame as it was a really revolutionary world class course. I hope this is a decsion that UNSW reviews in the future.
